The Square Box

I’m back from Taiwan!! Yeah!! Actually been back for about 3 days already. hehe. I won’t blog much about it though, but it has been a happy trip, cos I manage to buy some cds and books on my new idol!! hehehee.. happyyyy.

Then, my first day back at work. Happy day too. We had a lil private meeting in the afternoon, then proceed to the store to test out some equipment, then A complained about having to stick the inventory stickers with the barcode serial no. and all which is not his job blah blah.. so we tried to help him do it.. (he always gena this kind of thing one)
It’s indeed a difficult job, cos the sticker is quite big n some of our equipment are small, so sometimes have to cut out the barcode and serial no. to paste on different corners of the equipment.

A: Be careful with the stickers hor! Once you paste it cannot take out again!
WM: Oh no! wah lau eh… poor quality stickers… *grumbles
A: It’s meant to be like that one lor, can happy happy take out then anybody also can kapo the equipment what. Paste wrongly then blame the sticker quality bad issit.
E: Wah lau eh, must we paste this? Damn ugly lor.
A: You all don’t paste on the box hor!!!! Paste on the equipment ok!
ME: I don’t think anybody will be so stupid to paste on the box right????

WM was working on the lens as we were talking, then he proceed to put the lens n box back in the dry cabinet.

A: You so fast paste finish already??? Don’t tell me you paste on the box ar??
WM: Not paste on the box meh??

I thought he was joking, but he looked damn serious.

ME: HUH? You really paste on the box ar???
I grab his box over and almost fainted. He really paste on the box!!! I tried to peel it off but the sticker disintegrate as I peel it. (yes, literally) No hope liao. Die.

A:I thought she just said who would be so stupid to paste on the box??? hahahahahahahaaa…
E: Oei!! you all want to paste until what time?? Knock off liao ley!!

With that, we drop everything that we were doing and disappear. Nothing can be more important than knocking off~

I’m flying tomorrow!!
Wasn’t in office yesterday.. the moment I came in today, heard news that E was upset about one of the students for our convo idol auditions. Think he’s damn pissed off cos… he don’t like his face.. hrmm.. wonder what’s wrong with the face though..

Brought my own lunch today! Mom’s home-cooked curry with four pieces of bread. Then I ate 1/4 of K’s home-cook fried rice… happy happy… you don’t know how depressing it is when it comes to lunchtime and we always have to look at each other and ask “dabao from upstairs again?” Followed by sianess of thinking what to dabao, cos it’s the same thing everyday.. and I’m very sick of Mac and subway already….

I’m doing OT tonight, there’s tons of things to do and I haven’t even pack yet! Shouldn’t be hard I guess, just dump a couple sets of clothes inside the luggage…. No? I hope I don’t forget anything..

I think I’m getting old soon… I carried my new 2nd hand CPU home on Monday, bought from M, good deal man! It’s a normal CPU size, and I carried it from my office to carpark, then from house carpark back home, and I feel very tired and aching all over! What is this! I can’t believe it man.. it’s doesn’t even take me more than 15mins! Die liao…

Then my colleague saw me carrying the CPU out of the office..

K: Wow! I think it’s a better idea to bring laptop to work man!
Me: Ya lor.. but I’m too poor to buy a laptop so have to carry my desktop around…
K: …………

Friday was a happy day! Met up with JV and S for dinner. Thanks to my dear friends who were late, I managed to run down to HMV and bought the cds that I had always wanted to buy! Happy happy…

As you know, I’m a “zhai nv” so its very difficult for me to go out and buy things.. somemore have to go town and buy… heheh…

two more days before I fly!! Yay! Hopefully I won’t put on too much weight there.. already very fat liao.. die die die…

Retreat has been confirmed. And it falls on a Friday and Saturday! So my whole department will be closed on Friday! This is a first time… wonder if it works out or not.. hopefully… Anyway not for me to bother about also, if boss say ok then ok lor…

So this year’s retreat will be held at (boring boring boring) Rasa Sentosa! And there are outdoor activities too! Some walk or trekking.. so finally I can wear my trekking boots! I bought it for the Cairnes trip and I haven’t worn it since I came back.. which was a longgggggg longgggg time ago.

Last year there were budget for one pax per room.. this year no budget so have to find a partner to share.. I was actually looking forward to having a room by myself =(

Why aren’t I happy that it’s a Friday?? Yawns..

I had a weird dream last night. I dreamt that some lorry knocked into my car backside when I was reversing out of a lot at a carpark. And this is one of the rare times when I woke up, I still can remember the dream so clearly, I can even remember the faces in the dream, even faces that I had not seen before.. very weird…

I’m on course today! Illustrator CS3, and it’s only a one day course. It’s actually pretty simple, much simpler than flash definitely! So far so good… nothing much to comment ley… I am bored….

Last week, I received an sms from a long time friend, a close Poly friend of mine. The sms was an invitation to his daughter’s first month baby shower. My first reaction was: Since when he got a daughter??? omg.. That shows how detached I am…

Yesterday… the almighty deck finally came in. Cine Alta High Definition deck. For the big project. 11.15am. We proceed to set it up for the down conversion of our rushes that they shot on the almighty camera in UK. but couldn’t get any video signal on the digibeta deck. hrmmm. A tried to the different video input signals but still no picture.

We looked at E. He just came back from the Sony HD course in Bangkok. Certified HD expert! He then picked up the instruction manual and started flipping through, while I poke at the buttons on the deck.

30mins later… By then E had already joined me in poking at the deck…

Me:”No signal ley, how?”
A(agitated):”Wah I dunno ley! Composite also no signal! Deck got problem la!”
E:” Die already, I also dunno ley.”
Me:”I very hungry you know”
E:”Me too, I never eat breakfast man…”
Me:”Grrrr… stupid deck…” *stomach growls
Above is a boring day of troubleshooting without success.
and late lunch too. Grrr.

The rental of the deck costs like $2,500 per day. Every minute of troubleshooting cost like… $2,500 divide by 24hrs divide by 60mins…. $1.70 per minute.

On the way to work this morning, the radio was reporting on the traffic conditions.
DJ:”On KPE, please avoid lane 2 as there is a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction….”

The DJ was amazed too, haha. He then asked any listeners who witness this to sms in on whether the driver is a male or female. =.=!

I have finally done the website, uploaded and all… although it’s not a fantastic piece of work, it’s a mixture of my heart and sweat… hopefully I can make improvements along the way!

Nothing more to say for now.. Still got many many things to rush… Siong man.

It’s been 3months since I moved office. My office actually looks nice on the outside, but actually with a lot of defects on the inside. Terrible man. Every time something is spoilt, my colleagues all will go, “china con ma, what to do…” We deduced that they must have given the lowest quote to be awarded this project. Poor us. Have to live with defects everyday.

The 1^st month, we went to our edit suites and all the racks and custom-made tables are up and working already, but there are some red ink marks and scratches on them. Where got people give the goods like that one… Then, the air cons that they installed in the suites look even older than my house air con. (Mind you, my house aircon is very old already) it’s obviously some second hand air con they got from don’t know where. Next, our equipment store has no ceiling boards, and the paint work was done sloppily, which AC has been complaining since day one. Who says storeroom cannot have ceiling boards?

Then, a few days after we moved in, the central air con in our office stopped working. Ever since, from that day right until the end of the month, they came in everyday to check the air con. And our air con is sometimes hot, sometimes cold. There’s a door which leads to the toilet corridor that’s supposed to be locked over the weekends. I noticed recently that the lock is on the outside of the door! Wtf??? It actually puzzled me for a few weeks, every time I pass by that door, I will look hard and it and wonder why the lock is on the outside. One fine day, one of my colleagues told me it’s an error on the contractor’s side. Zzzz.

There’s still tons of errors which I’m very lazy to point out already. Moving on… It’s a busy busy week.. doing OT 3 days out of 4days.. although there’s one public holiday but still very very tired.. Luckily got a bunch of fun loving colleagues to brighten up my OT days.. especially when the joker came back on Friday.. had a great time laughing at him for missing his flight, until he bth.. haha..

Have been bumming around this 2 weeks though. Cos I always have some work to do at home but been neglecting it for the past 2 weeks, until have to submit already then last minute do..First time so slack.. oh well, there’s a reason for everything..

Hair getting longer.. have to cut soon.. or maybe just tie it up *lazy

Registered for the degree course.. probably starting in Jan.. unless they reject me? Mixed feelings… scared of the workload coming up.. Will be Dead Meat for the next 3 years if this comes through.
