I’m into the 2nd day of my course. The issue of “What to blog?” has been raised. Why was my old blog post more interesting? Because it wasn’t open to public and only a few close friends have the blog address. Thus I can blog freely on whatever I want to talk about, express my displeasures openly and not worry about anybody being unhappy.

So what’s holding me back? What the purpose of creating this blog? I actually just wanted to share my work experience, something to do with The Square Box, meaning Television. Then I realized there’s so many things I can’t talk about, and all the interesting stuffs are there.

Recently there’s this incident about a teacher being sacked because he posted excerpts of his student’s essay online and mocked about them. Another issue of blogging too freely. Of course there are different comments about this incident. Extracted from a forum, here’s one:

“Its their own personal blog, they are entitled to write what they want. And whats wrong with criticising poor esssay anyway. How can we grow unless we receive criticism? I think people should learn how to receive criticism instead.”

And another:
“I think this relief teacher was very insensitive, and should have been counselled.
Telling students the mistakes they made in their writings could have taken place in class. It was uncalled for to put their essays on a blog, as anyone around the world with access to the Internet could read them and the mocking remarks this teacher made about the essays.”

Everybody has different opinions, be it positive or negative. So what’s the best place to express your very honest opinions? Forums! Your identity can be hidden, and nobody can penalize you for what you say! But if you decide to flame in forums, please do not quote me on the above.

It seems like I only got things to update when I go on course. Right now, I’m in this course call blogs, wikis & free software. Now in the process of creating blogs at blogger.com (yes… it’s blogger.com) , the instructor says I cannot use my own blog for this course.. so I’m trying to find my old blog at blogger, had a hard time finding it man, but I got it finally.

The things I’m learning now is based on blogging in blogspot, so I hope that it’s not much difference from the settings in this blog. But I must say, my previous blog is much more interesting as compared to my current blog now. heheh.
