Thanks Guys!

Oct 15, 2007 in Updates

Ever since I got my lovely car a month and half ago, it has been plagued with bad bad things, like scatches by neighbouring cars just two days after i got it, and now, I have to pump the tyre every 2 days. Sigh.

By right, the problem can be solved easily by going any tyre shop for checkup, but since my tyres are under warranty, I should just go Tan Chong for free checkup. I need to put my car there for half a day, and I haven’t been able to find time to do it, so I have to worry about my tyre everyday.

I confided in my lovely colleague and he offered to change my tyre for me! So sweet! But don’t know why, my spare tire rim is black colour… zzzzzzz so ugly… but no choice…

My Favourite Drink

Oct 05, 2007 in Updates

I drink a cup of Tea-O every morning from the canteen downstairs if I’m not late for work. A cup of Teo-O costs 25 cents.

If you want to take away, you have a choice of adding a cap to the Styrofoam cup for 5 cents more.

To me, adding 5 cents more for the cap is perfectly ok because it will be 30cents exactly and I won’t have to get back a change of 5 cents. (Don’t we find 5 cents irritating nowadays?)

Until one fine day, when I was having lunch with little boy and loudspeaker, they started commenting on the cap because we packed our lunch and ate at the stone tables outside our office. All of us packed drinks upstairs, but I’m the only one who paid for the cap, whereas they balanced their drinks perfectly in their hands all the way to the table.

Loudspeaker says that he find it ridiculous that a charge of 5 cents more is levied on just a cap.

Me: But the drinks are already cheap enough, even if you add 5 cents more, it’s only just 30 cents!

Little Boy: But why do you want to pay 5 cents more if you can do without the cap? Just make sure you don’t spill your drink on the way to office la!

Me: Mine is hot drink ley, brother. Yours is ribena, spill already also nevermind what.

Loudspeaker: Why will spill? Everyday I also like that hold the cup and bring back office what.

Me: It’s only 5 cents more what, 1 month also spend 1 dollar plus more only.

Loudspeaker: It’s just the thought of having to pay additional cost to something that’s going to be thrown away you know… Me: ok ok.. I will wash the cap and keep it for collection k. From then on, I really kept the cap of every Tea-O that I drank, Now I have five caps.

Actually, the main purpose is to bring the cap with me so that I can cap my drink when I buy it. But it’s so damn embarrassing to do that you know, to cap in front of the auntie when I pay, so I just keep collecting the caps until a colleague asked me: ”what’s the point of keeping the caps if you don’t bring it along with you? You collect so many caps for what?” I refused to do such embarrassing thing. Then a bright idea strike me. Why don’t I find one corner and cap my Tea-O? Then nobody will know that I did such nonsense stuff! Hehehe, ain’t I clever?

Wow! An Update!

Oct 01, 2007 in Updates

Sorry for the lack of updates, it has been on my mind to blog everyday, but I seriously have no idea what to blog about. Enough of excuses =X

Anyway, I almost don’t feel like going to work today. But because the Press Secretary is coming to approve our setup for the ministerial forum in the afternoon, and two of my colleagues are on leave, so it seems that I’m solely in charge. It’s also not good to not go work every Monday ya..

I was suppose to finish at least one more article yesterday night, but my oh my, what great powers a tv serial has. I was hooked to a hk drama serial, just started watching yesterday night after dinner, thinking that I can do my article at the same time. But because this drama is in Cantonese, it’s more difficult for me cos I can’t really understand it without looking at the subtitles, thus the ability to multi-tasked dropped a huge notch for me. I only managed to do 2 paragraphs last night, and I slept later than I normally do, which is a good thing. Sleeping too much is not good for health really.

I almost wanted to bring the show to watch at work today, but it’s a really really bad thing to do. It will become an addiction. (oh well, it has already become one hasn’t it?) Nevertheless, I stopped myself from doing it, there will be more to come, better not make it a habit.

Apparently I’m not the only one who don’t feel like working today. My boss and another colleague are on child leave today. Today no government so all the more don’t feel like working.. I hope the ministerial forum will be over soon, it’s really not fun to be in charge of such big events. How I wish I’m only helping out! Working at Nanyang Auditorium is suppose to be fun and stress-free! =(
