I always think that I have difficulty in identifying different genres of music that fits a video, be it corporate, documentary, info-tainment, etc. Whenever I choose a music for a video, I will have difficulty visualizing how it goes with the video, whether it’s suitable or not, blah blah blah. All the music in the library don’t seem suitable and the process can be frustrating.   Today I was setting my machine to copy and print the labels for 139 DVDs and little boy is editing behind me. He’s choosing music for a video too and as he’s choosing, he keep going, “Please give me a cool track!” He listens to a few more tracks and he goes, “Oh man! Give me a break!” So I’m not the only one with this problem! I always thought I’m disabled in choosing music for a video, so it’s not just me. IT IS really a FRUSTRATING process I tell you, especially when we are listening to the same music collection everytime. I’m going to set the cd duplicator to dub 139 copies of dvds for me overnight. I hope the machine behaves, please! *PRAY HARD*

It’s been ages since I blogged! I don’t know why, but I lost all inspiration to blog after reading businesspeanuts on “no excuse on nothing to write”, then all of sudden, I really have nothing to write. lol. Nevertheless, I will try to blog frequently, don’t worry =P I know I still have part 2 of Cairnes photos not up yet…

It’s a rainy weather again today. I slept super early yesterday night. Felt quite good this morning.

Anyway, about the welcome lunch on Monday. We went to Swensens at JP. It has been quite awhile since I went Swensens and they changed their menu! They added more food to the menu and it looks quite good. They stated that for lunch, if you order a main course item or pasta, there will be a complimentary soup of the day, a drink and a dessert. Sounds good! CM2, being irritating as usual, asked the waiter who’s serving ice water for us: 

CM2: Main course got free soup of the day and drink ar?

Waiter: Yes, and pasta as well.

CM2: Burger can get or not ar?

Waiter: No, only main course and pasta.

CM2: Then pizza ley?

Me, (who’s sitting opposite CM2): ……………………………………. It’s already stated here MAIN COURSE and PASTA, don’t be irritating la! 

He can be irritating sometimes that you don’t know whether to laugh or cry man. Anyway, here’s a picture of us at Swensens. 4 person were absent, otherwise, my section people are more or less here, including my boss, who paid for the bill. =)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I finally met up with S and W on Tues. It’s nice to meet up although W insisted on drinking, as usual, and of course I insisted on not drinking, hah. S don’t drink as well, so we went home after dinner. At least the task of organizing a meet up with them is not on me anymore. I’m falling back on my schedule to do the articles. There’s a considerable number of shoots this week and next week. I can’t even find time to finish the edits I have on hand. Must catch up catch up! 

I wanted to blog yesterday morning, but I had to go out of office halfway through. There’s still a bit of time to blog before I leave at 10am to shoot a teaching seminar. Soooooooo tired.. the weather is so damn good to sleep today.. YAWNS.. Traffic is very very smooth today, so amazing… I think I’m too used to traffic jams everyday.. yesterday went home on CTE at 10pm and the traffic is like 6pm like that! Sianz half.. Had a welcome lunch on Monday before everybody go on leave, will blog about it tonight! Stay tuned! =P  

p/s: To avoid discrepancies, from now on, there will be nicknames for each of my colleagues. Just in case. You know. Nicknames will be up on next post too, haa  

First night in Cairnes was terrible. To start off, it was already drizzling when we reach the campsite. We have to pitch our tents before the rain gets bigger. The first campsite has no electricity at all, the water is ice cold and the toilet stinks. With the cold temperature, I don’t think I will be bathing for a few days. There’s hot shower, but you have to boil the water manually and the hot shower place is a bit open space. The bag holding the hot water is so small that I doubt it’s enough for one shower session. I couldn’t sleep for the first night although I was damn super tired after the long flight and transit. The darkness was quite overwhelming. I can’t even see my hands if I put them in front of me.

I woke up feeling terrible the next day. It was drizzling and we had to go into the forest, while trying to cope with the muddiness, slipperiness and wetness. While going down one of the slopes, I flew and fell on the muddy ground. Luckily the camera was still intact though. I actually managed to protect the precious camera. But felt so demoralized, covered with mud and all. After that, we went to the creek for a swim. It was soooooooo cold but very refreshing! Unfortunately, I fell sick the next day, whether it’s from the super cold swim, or from the titanus shot I had a week before, I’m not sure. Pumping the airbed on the 1st night.. we were so excited that we have airbed in our tents. There’s enough for everybody, but the unlucky one (ME) will get the airbed that deflat every night within 2 hours, until I already don’t want to bother with pumping it already.

I’m trying to post up my photos for Cairnes and it’s a frustrating process. Think it will take me forever to figure out how to post them properly, sigh.

Been sick for past few days, especially national day was the worst. Trying to finish my articles quota too, I’m near to finishing it! Except for my running nose these few days, which got worst today (sian), everything is still fine. I’m not suppose to blow my nose for 2 weeks too, because long term blowing nose will burst a membrane in the tube connecting the nose and the ear, and maybe I’m close to bursting it already, cos I felt a pain in my ear yesterday before going to see the doctor. Doc gave me med to clear the tube and told me not to blow nose for 2 weeks.

Time to do some work!

Today is a drowsy day. Coincidentally, I was writing articles on sleep yesterday and the word drowsiness was all over it. Or am I drowsy cos of that article? Hrmmm anyway, today is the first time in 3 weeks that I don’t feel like getting out of bed. Aha.. all of you must be thinking gleefully that I’ve fallen into the deep black hole. Oh well, let’s see how tomorrow will be. Maybe I should not write the articles before sleeping. It’s getting into me… (YAWNS) Today most of the colleagues will be in. So it’s a battle of snatching avids. And of cos, being the smallest prawn here, I shall just sit back and take whatever is left of the editing space.(YAWNS again)  

There’s not many selection of breakfast at the canteen below my office, except for Macdonalds. So I bought a sausage macmuffin, since eating big breakfast at my desk don’t really look glamour here, especially when my desk is “everybody pass by”, “everybody can see” and “no privacy desk”. Now that the term has started, lunching will be a big headache with the canteen packed to the brim. So I have to eat full full breakfast and have late lunch.

p/s: still trying hard to align my cairnes photos every night =(

I discovered that I always do not have the time to blog over the weekends, much as I tried to find time. My Cairnes photos have been sorted out and ready to be posted. But it will take me quite a while cos I’m still baffled as to how to put the pictures in without screwing up the alignment of the post. Posting pictures always take me long hours and makes me want to pull out all my hair in frustration.  

I discovered that however simple a video edit can be, it’s always good to have a script so that it organizes your thoughts and things won’t stray all over the place. So when I do editing, the script is always something that I can refer to when I get overloaded and don’t know what visual should go next. Most importantly, it gives me something to do when I’m station in office with no shoots scheduled, like today! Time to go check on my videos, counting down to lunch time….

I finally got my Cairnes photos!! It’s really a lot a lot… Amidst the busy schedule today, I managed to met up with wh and she passed me 6 cd roms she burn for me from the pics!! Thank you so much!

Chatted with her for a bit and I asked her where she’s heading to later, and she replied me,”oh! I’m going to meet ch and another friend at pasir ris park to catch snakes!”

 ”…………………………………………………………………………………………………..”

Wah!! So happening! This is by far the most happening activity I’d heard of, Friday nights can be happening afterall! Other than having dinner, watching movie, shopping, playing mj, there’s also catching snakes! So scary….

“Pasir Ris Park got snake catch meh?” I asked her in disbelief.

WH: “Yah! There’s a mangrove there!”

She’s so excited that she’s almost ready to fly there… so they aren’t green volunteers for nothing.. so happening………………… maybe I should join them for one of their activities, but definitely not catching snakes please, maybe spotlighting will do.  

Anyway, I’m so tired now that I’m almost ready to sleep. But I don’t want to waste the night man, there’s so many things I need to do. Been tired ever since I start work, but I’m enjoying working life for now, cos it beats doing nothing at home. It’s better to be tired knowing that you are earning more money than being tired and wondering what you did for the day except moping around at home. Maybe I will miss those days soon. =P

Ntu has a big welcome for me while I’m waiting for my car coe bidding. They are setting up gantries at the open space carparks!! Why must they do this?? The timing is so accurate that I’m wondering if they have something against me. It’s all set up but not working yet, and it will probably work just when I get my car. Aiya.. every month $60 more.. Not that it’s a lot, but the timing is really……….. really…………. don’t know what to say man.

I’m going to get my things done before I lose my consciousness, my article is only at 2.5, and I need to sort out the photos, pack my wardrobe, and arrange some gatherings. Sigh. And also reply some sms, etcc… but I will try to post some Cairnes photos tml~
